Grandparents' Love

"A grandparent is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher, and a little bit best friend." ~Author Unknown

I had the privilege of spending time with the R family a couple weeks ago. Mr. and Mrs. R have just celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary in the past weekend. They are such a cute couple, and one could tell that they are still in love with each other even after all these years. I can only hope that David and I will be as happy a couple as they are in the future.

Mr. and Mrs. R have six grandchildren. Just look at them! Aren't they beautiful?! They adore each other. Their relationship reminds me of my relationship with my own grandparents. It's that special bond only shared between grandparents and grandkids. And of course, it also reminds me of the bond shared between my kids and my parents, who are arriving from Indonesia this evening. How grateful I am that they are able to experience this special relationship just like I did.

Anyways, without further ado, here are some of my favorite shots from the session. Enjoy!

Our chiquita

We have been putting Kay in Spanish class at her preschool for about 2 months now. This class is wonderful and we are hoping that Kay can at least learn David's native language. The class is interactive, which is perfect for preschool kids. The teacher speaks Spanish from the moment they enter the class. Check it out...

Wes' Valentine experience

I took Wes to his preschool type class today and he did quite well. He enjoyed painting the color red and made a Valentine bag. During circle time, he got tons of Valentine goodies from his friends. His favorites were the lollipop and the red windmill given by his teacher, Miss Mona.

Location Research

I took Kay with me to do some location research for my Saturday's photo session. It's difficult to capture her lately since she started to adopt that "forced smile" look. Here are two somewhat decent shots of her.

Little Gymnast

We decided to put Wes in a gymnastic class, seeing how active he is. I was a bit worried that he may not follow the class structure, but thankfully it has been working out OK. I have had to drag him a few times while he was doing his typical minor tantrums, but so far it hasn't been too bad. He had fun most of the time, which is great. Check out a few moves of our little gymnast below. It's actually pretty cute :)
